Rock On: Rock Observation

JOURNAL ENTRY-Input, page 9

Each student has a rock in which they will eventually tell its tale. Rocks needed to be found in Maine and must be unidentified.  As we learn about how the Earth moves, students will answer possible questions such as:

  • How was it formed?
  • Where did it come from?
  • What has it been through during its existence?
  • Where will it go or what could possibly happen to it in a natural setting?

Today we made our first journal entry in relation to the rocks. On page 9, students recorded their what they saw by answering, “What do I observe?” through drawing, labeling the drawing and describing their rock.
